吉米老师告诉大家，歪果仁不会明白这个直译，英语中没有这个说法。 open 作动词用可以表示开门，开窗，张嘴，张开怀抱，甚至开办公司等等，这个结构不能用来表示 “开学” 。
open school 也不是一个不存在的搭配，但它的意思是 开放的学校，开放式学校 ，在这里 open 作形容词，表示 “向公众开放” ；而 open a school 则是表示 开办一所学校 。

1.back to school
返校，开学
最简单易记的表达。假期等其他原因之后师生回到学校，自然就是 开学 。

明天就要开学了，汤姆看上去很不开心。
2.School starts
开学
学校开始上课当然就是 开学 了。也可以写作： School begins ，或者 School opens 。不过 open 还有 学校开放 的含义，使用的时候注意语言环境。大学开学则是将 university 替换 school 即可。

3.The new semester starts
开学，新学期开始。
开学 就是一个新学期的开始，start 可以用 begin 替换， 学期 也可以用 term 来表示。
不过大家需要知道的是， semester 是 双学期制 ，一年分春秋两个学期，主要用于美国和德国，我们国内学校也是如此。而 term 指 三学期制 ，一年分春夏秋三个学期，多用于英国。
